If you have recently purchased the new Apple AirPods, you might wonder how to connect them to your Mac computer.
Although the process is relatively simple, there are a few steps you need to follow to get it done correctly.
This blog post will walk you through how to connect your AirPods to your Mac step-by-step.
Open the AirPods case
The lid will open, revealing the charging port and LED indicator light.
You can then place your AirPods in the case and close the lid.
Connect your AirPods to your iPhone or iPad
Assuming you have the AirPods case and your iPhone or iPad close by, open the lid of the case—with your AirPods inside—and hold it next to your device.
A popup should appear on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want to connect to the “AirPods” audio accessory.
From now on, whenever you have your AirPods in, and they’re powered on (by opening the lid), they’ll automatically connect to your iPhone or iPad.
Put your AirPods in your ears
To connect your AirPods to your Mac, first put them in your ears.
Then, open the charging case lid and hold it next to your Mac.
An image of an AirPod will appear on the screen.
Click the image of the AirPod, then click “Connect.” Your AirPods are now connected to your Mac!
Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case
If you’re having trouble connecting your AirPods to your Mac, don’t worry! It’s easy to do and only takes a few steps.
First, ensure that your AirPods are in their charging case and that the patient is charged.
Then, open the lid of the case and press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about two seconds.
Next, open System Preferences on your Mac and go to Bluetooth.
You should see your AirPods listed under “Other Devices.” Click on them and then click “Connect.”
That’s it! Your AirPods are now connected to your Mac. Enjoy!
You can release the button when you see the status light flash white
If you see the status light flash white, your AirPods are ready to be used with your Mac.
To connect them, press the Connect button on the AirPods case until the status light starts flashing white.
Then, release the button, and your AirPods will be connected to your Mac.
On your Mac, click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar
Assuming your AirPods are in their charging case:
1. On your Mac, click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar.
2. Connect your AirPods to your Mac.
3. Put your AirPods in their case—making sure that the lid is open—and then hold the button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds until you see the status light flash white.
4. When you’re prompted to connect to “AirPods,” click Connect.
Select your AirPods in the Devices list
If you have an AirPods case with a built-in battery and are using it to charge your AirPods, ensure that the patient is assessed.
To see the charge level of your AirPods, go to Bluetooth settings on your Mac, then select your AirPods in the Devices list.
The Battery Percentage section shows how much charge your AirPods have.
