Do you actually own an LY-F1 Tablet? Please check here before flashing firmware.....

I am posting this because a lot of people have been complaining that when they flash their LY-F1 with the firmware from the LYXFS website, their capacitive buttons and auto-rotate no longer work. Something that I have never had a problem with.

My colleague purchased what he thought was an LY-F1 from amazon.co.uk seller Wendy Lou. He wanted the same tablet that I had purchased from the same seller a month earlier. He got a tablet that looked similar, but on closer inspection, was different. The tf card slot was at the bottom next to the USB / HDMI port insead of on the side. It also had an extra plastic bit below the capacitive buttons. The clarity of the screen was slightly better than my LY-F1. The tablet name was listed as "H7 iNet" when he looked at the "About Device" details in android.

Seemingly, the amazon seller had received a batch of tablets that were not LY-F1s, but chose to sell them anyway as they appeared to be the same and offered a slightly better screen and thought that people wouldn't mind.

There is an amazon discussion about it here - Note that the amazon seller sells the LY-F1 tablets under the name "NATPC M009S 8GB Capacitive" :

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bought-table...sin=B006M07X34

    and here

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/What-are-you...sin=B006M07X34

and the reason why people who thought they were all buying the same thing, but were actually being sent different tablets, is here:

    Guys,

Please accept my apologies for the late inclusion in this thread. Unfortunately my spare time has been so rare these days that I rarely get a chance to pop on the customer forums.

I am so disappointed to see that our product has caused such problems but, hopefully, I can lay a few fears to rest.

Firstly, you will ALWAYS get the very best of support from us. We don't walk away from problems but the main issue is that stock has been so hard to come by that our supplier has been adding in other tablets to make up our orders to ensure that we get continuous supply.

There have been two or three possible variations :

    1. The colour of the rear of the case - some were white and some were black. This was considered less important than actually getting some stock so, when asked, if we would accept either colour, we simply said "YES - give us whatever you can". We were being inundated with emails clamouring for this product and worked night and day answering them and trying to secure stock for you guys.

    2. There was a small amount of another model added into our deliveries - same chipset etc but a stiffer, better-made case and a better screen too. It shows as different software version only because of the different apps pre-loaded from what I understand. It is actually a more expensive model that we have no plans to stock - we wish to stick with the main one that made up 95% of the sales.

    3. 4gb is what we should have got but, as some of you already know, 8gb was substituted occasionally, again to fulfill our demand for the orders.

    4. The three version that are in circulation (standard 4gb, standard 8gb and more expensive 8gb) ALL perform the same tasks from what I can see. I have benchmarked them and loaded iPlayer on and ALL have an issue with lip-syncing on my wifi connection. The variations that people are experiencing are down to how good the connection is between tablet and router I believe rather than the performance of the tablet per se. I think some optimisation of the router connection such as a fixed ip address or searching for a better, less cluttered channel frequency may help rather than thinking a different tablet version will sort it. My own connection in the office is very poor but it seems to work for ALL of our android tablets so I have no need to change it.

As for SKYPE video, I have not managed to get it to load from the android market on any of the three so I suspect, again, that it may be a settings issue rather than tablet specific. Perhaps side-loading it from the link alreeady provided in an earlier discussion is the answer.
My colleague flashed the tablet he received with the LY-F1 ICS 4.0.3 firmware and immediately lost the auto-rotate functionality and the capacitive buttons . Everything else appears to work fine except these features.

Personally, I would hate to lose any sort of feature on a new tablet. He is currently looking for the original "H7 iNet" firmware and trying to see if whoever made that tablet are working on an ICS 4.0.3 image or even have the original image available to download somewhere.

So, if your tablet does not look like the following, it IS NOT an LY-F1 :

    http://www.lyxfsz.com/cn/products_view.htm?id=24

And if you flash the LY-F1 firmware to it and it does not look like the above, you risk losing the auto-rotate functionality and the capacitive buttons.

    NATPC M009S capacitive 7", 1.6 GHz Android tablet, 2.3
I have only used this tablet twice. I thought I would let my daughter take it on holiday. But when I started up the tablet to show her how to use it. It did not start as normal in the android start up screen. The tablet go’s to the default home interface page, not to the default desktop. I’m at a loss as to how to fix this problem. Can you help or can you advise me where I can find help.
    Kind Regards.

There is an update that adresses
http://173.255.228.138/~rogercalver/ – if you get a problem with a certain version, just download another and try that. (Beta V2 is the best at the
    moment)

Unzip it to a computer and then transfer the “FirmwareInstall” folder and the “wmt_scriptcmd” file (and these two ONLY) on to a blank, formatted (FAT32) memory card.

Insert the card and turn the tablet on – it should automatically update and you will be asked to remove the card when it is finished.

Once that is completed, you may need to follow these instructions also -

    hello:

The zips uploaded to the URLs seem to be corrupted. Please, does anybody have the firmware for the NATPC M009S 1Gb tablet? I have flashed the LY-F1 firmware, and I don't have the original rom dump.

    Thanks in advance

I don't own LY-F1 but we have clone here in my country which is I own.

    http://www.cdrking.com/?mod=products...14584&main=167

I successfully flash it with this firmware 4.0.3 and also the 4.0.4 with no issue, except for the missing app after rebooting because I transferred it to my SDcard.

And I tried flashing the CM9 and CM10, I always stuck at the boot screen

There seems to be lot of clones of LY-F1. Mine too is one of them. It physically looks the same except for the reset button which is at the back on mine. Besides it has Sitronix ST1536 touch controller and not Focal Tech FT5X series. From all the information I have gathered from the net LY-F1 does not have Sitronix touch controller. That may be the reason why touch stops working once fw for LY-F1 is flashed as I did. I have been hunting around for Sitronix ST15xx drivers but no avail. What is given in some of the compatibility zip files as sitronix_st15xx_ts.ko seems to be a lift off from ft5x_ts.ko. On hexedit one may find ft5x at least on one instance and it does not work. See pix below for the location of touch controller on the third picture.

On my request Dmitri Beykun and Turl at linux-sunxi have spent their time and effort to create a kernel patch for Sitronix ts. However I am no good at kernel work. Hope somebody could help out. It ia available at

    https://github.com/linux-sunxi/linux...5490085e788d1f

Besides on my tab usb mouse does not work with CM9 or CM10 even if I update from a fw where it works. All help welcome and highly appreciated.

Just installed Quarx fw. Touch still not working but mouse works after pressing power button once and then back on. Did not know Quarx is here too. I have been using his fw on Defy all the time. Thanks. I will now wait for some news for my touch. May be it will help a host of others too.
