Guys,
Please accept my apologies for the late inclusion in this thread. Unfortunately my spare time has been so rare these days that I rarely get a chance to pop on the customer forums.
I am so disappointed to see that our product has caused such problems but, hopefully, I can lay a few fears to rest.
Firstly, you will ALWAYS get the very best of support from us. We don't walk away from problems but the main issue is that stock has been so hard to come by that our supplier has been adding in other tablets to make up our orders to ensure that we get continuous supply.
There have been two or three possible variations :
1. The colour of the rear of the case - some were white and some were black. This was considered less important than actually getting some stock so, when asked, if we would accept either colour, we simply said "YES - give us whatever you can". We were being inundated with emails clamouring for this product and worked night and day answering them and trying to secure stock for you guys.
2. There was a small amount of another model added into our deliveries - same chipset etc but a stiffer, better-made case and a better screen too. It shows as different software version only because of the different apps pre-loaded from what I understand. It is actually a more expensive model that we have no plans to stock - we wish to stick with the main one that made up 95% of the sales.
3. 4gb is what we should have got but, as some of you already know, 8gb was substituted occasionally, again to fulfill our demand for the orders.
4. The three version that are in circulation (standard 4gb, standard 8gb and more expensive 8gb) ALL perform the same tasks from what I can see. I have benchmarked them and loaded iPlayer on and ALL have an issue with lip-syncing on my wifi connection. The variations that people are experiencing are down to how good the connection is between tablet and router I believe rather than the performance of the tablet per se. I think some optimisation of the router connection such as a fixed ip address or searching for a better, less cluttered channel frequency may help rather than thinking a different tablet version will sort it. My own connection in the office is very poor but it seems to work for ALL of our android tablets so I have no need to change it.
As for SKYPE video, I have not managed to get it to load from the android market on any of the three so I suspect, again, that it may be a settings issue rather than tablet specific. Perhaps side-loading it from the link alreeady provided in an earlier discussion is the answer.
