Everytime i try to do this. at the point of uploading the rom it comes up as a FWDN version mismatch. roms FWDN comes up as 0x03000005 and FWDN comes up as 0x03000004. Any ideas??

GrahamRobertsLX: Maybe try this FWDN: http://cache.ourdev.cn/bbs_upload780...dev_536319.zip
It contains FDWN6 and FDWN7. Also try to only flash the boot rom, not the kernel. The kernel can be flashed via SD card.

Also, my X10 has a loose yellow wire inside. If I connect this yellow wire to the metal shell on the board and press reset then the X10 enters bootloader mode and I can use FWDN. That way I don't have to short pins on flash.

    My process:
    Configure FWDN.
Connect X10 via USB to PC(X10 on or off, battery can be left connected or disconnected).
Connect yellow wire to metal cover
    Press reset button on X10.
(FWDN detects X10, uploads temporary bootloader then X10 disconnects)
    Press power button on X10.
FWDN detects X10 and ready to flash.

This is much nicer than disconnecting the LCD every time and shorting pins on flash. The wire disapears under the PCB. If anyone wants to know where it connects under the PCB(to add a wire if their X10 doesn't have such a wire) then just let me know.

Now the X10 is unbreakable... .

    Thanks for all that.
I dont seem to have a Yellow wire. If you could tell me where the yellow wire goes to on the pcb that would be great

you don't need this. just de-solder battery wires (red/black) and do the job with NAND
