It is not necessary. Factory firmware is stable and good. This firmware package will be good when any software problems appears.
Also newer version of Android 4.0 will be interesting for update.

Hi! I am very interested in this tablet (the IPS screen an A10 combination seems great) but I cannot find good users reviews. The battery life is a major issue to me and as I expect to watch movies on long trips I really wonder how long it can last when watching movies (4, 5 hours or more) and if the battery can be charged through USB?
What do you mean about black screen?
LY-F1 have not IPS screen. Maybe LY-F1s or LY-F2 will be with HD IPS.
Battery life is about 5-6 hours (8 gb version) and battery can be charged via miniUSB.
