Firmware for Apad with Android 1.7.4

Upgrading steps:
1. unzip files and copy to the sd card (any card is ok under 8GB)
2. plug the card into the unit
3. hold the power button, the unit will begin to upgrade the system automatically.
4. After the system popup a tip to show it has done the upgrading, draw out the card from the unit.
5. Restart the item.

How do you actually update the firmware? I have downloaded the file, but there are not directions to how to load it. I have received an apad with the 1.6 version still on it, was suppose to have the 1.7.4, the sku3980. Please provide step by step directions to updating my device to the correct version. Thanks

I agree with steel completely... putting step-by-step instructions in all the firmware downloads would most likely save a lot of headaches for customers and Pandawill!

anf how come pandawill can;t just ship the device with the latest firmware. rather then leaving iut uo to the customer to be the rocket scientice. ? they should come already wth the latest and most recent firmware. like steel said, his device came with Android 6.1, when pandawill is saying the device comes with the 1.7.4. pandawill pls send the device with the most recent update, and please provide some detail information on how to flash the devices and not just a link to do it yourself. becasue when something goes wrong, the customer end up with a bricked. and their only option in many case is to return the device.

Unrar it
copy the all files to the sd card root
put in the sd card to the unit
hold the power button and menu button togather
The unit will update the OS
That"s all

am sure he ment unzip. but the fileis in a .rar format. and Hugo is a cool guy so i understand his language. he's just saying you should unzip or unrar the file. any zip program should support .zip and .rar. nice word Hugo, (unrar) i like it.

always bro, that's why we come here to help each other. becasue sometimes pandawill don;t have all the answers. but people who actually use the device on a daily basic might have answers, plus pandawill staff are not always online. becasue of the time difference. i live in the US too. so its helpful. whatever question you might have, just make a post and someone will help you if they know what the issue is. since this your first device, it was good you went with the Android. because alot of problems have been comming up with those X10 users. but your device had much support in this forum. so you are in luck. :lol

Hey thanks everyone, I will try what Hugo mentioned, I hope it works, they did tell me once I load the 1.7.4 on I can do the upgrade to 1.8.2 next. anyone have comments on that being done, or is that the same?
