    Just bought the ZT-180-102

Just bought the 512MB version of the ZT-180 (model 102a?) that supposedly has Android 2.2. According to the system info in the settings it is running 2.2, but wondering if that is faked or something. If it is really 2.2 it is a very stripped down version of 2.2. Live wallpapers do not work, and for some reason quite a few apps that I have installed on my HTC Droid Incredible phone that runs 2.2 will not install on the ZT180. I tried using the AppBrain app to install my apps, and a lot of them show up as item not found when it tries to install them. I have tried searching in the Market app on the tablet, and a lot of them do not show up on there either. I do not know why an app that shows up if you look it up on the regular Market website on a computer or on another 2.2 powered device would not show up on the ZT180s version of the market app. If anyone out there knows, I would love to hear from you. There are a lot of options missing in the settings as well. Security and the Voice Input & Output are the main ones, but various options in the menus of the other settings are missing as well. The Sound options does not let you change the main notification sound. It does seem that the manufacturer just took the Android OS meant for a phone and cut out some stuff. It still seems to think it is a phone. The Phone app shows up in the app list, and some of the options in the settings are phone related. One of the major problems I have with it is that though it is supposedly 2.2, it does NOT support Adobe Flash. If I had known that the OS was stripped down like this before I bid on it, I would have saved my money and bought a different pad from a different company. Sure, the specs look good on it, and obviously for the price I paid for it, $255 plus s/h, I wasn't expecting something along the lines of the Galaxy Tab or Motorola Xoom, but wasn't expecting something that was missing key components of it's OS either. :-( I am hoping I can work it out with the seller to return it and get my money back or something. Unless someone out there knows a way to flash this device to a full working version of 2.2 or something.

I have a Zenithink 256k version and have found an excellent support site for this and other tablets at www.slatedroid.com and you can check out this link as well for updates on the firmware. I love how my ZT180 is now running.
