5 Easy Steps to Root Your MT6577/MTK6577 based Android devices

This guide is for android device based on Media Tek 6577 chipset (or MTK6577).

Here' s how you can root your device easily using the following tools and software:

1. You need a USB driver for the MT6577 device.

Download the USB driver: MT65XX-USB-Driver.

Once you have downloaded the driver, ensure that you install the driver in Windows so that you can see the device under "My Computer".

Enable "Developer Mode"
go to settings-> developer options->usb debugging and ensure it is checked/ticked.



If you select the Propertied of the Device, you should see something like this:


2 . Download the Rooting tool. (see attachment)

This rooting tool leverage the adb restore function to the rooting. Choose the nomal mode during the rooting process.


3. Choose the "Normal mode", just sit back and let the tool do its job.


4. Follow the instruction to ''Restore my data". back up your device before doing any thing.


5. Once you have rooted your device, you will find a SuperSu application in your android, which enable you to control SuperUser access/root access to the android device.

Please look at your device and click RESTORE!
If all is successful i will tell you, if not this shell will run forever.
Running ...
Successful, going to reboot your device in 10 seconds!
Waiting for device to show up again....
Going to copy files to it's place
mount: permission denied (are you root?)
You can close all open command-prompts now!
After reboot all is done! Have fun!

Hi, I would appreciate if anyone help me on this,

I recently bought on Haipai i9377 from pandawill, but I have unsuccessfully root this phone using the methods and driver provided above...

everything went well and the program said it is good. while I couldn't find any superuser added and detected as no rooted! the only different thing I did is to run the program on Win 7, but not XP, can you confirm that it has to be on XP? just a little bit hard to find XP PC these days.

I got the same problem on my tinji S3 I9300 . i put the phone in USB Storage mode only, and restarted, it was working fine.

But i got another problem, i dont have any 3G connection only Edge, someone knows what to do ?

Even i have poor wifi signal
