Connect your charger, it should give you a picture of a battery in charging, with a lightning bolt in the center. Or just press the power on button for a longer periord, like 1 min. if no response, your battery or charger is not working. The charger should get warm after plug in a 5 min or so. It is the same charger of old Nokia phone. See whether you can get a hold of an old Nokia phone charger, say in Dollar tree?

thank you for your reply, I have now replaced the 2mm connector tip onto a 5v 2 amp charger which i know worked, and it is still not charging.. out of ideas now , it had 11% battery when it got to me, now it is completly drained and when i turn it on it says "battery low, shutdown in 10 seconds"

I think mines has the same problem.

When I turn my PD10 on, while it is connected to the charger, the icon says that it is charging, but then a few seconds later it says 'low battery' and shuts down.

If I hold the power button down my PD10 does start up. But the battery never seems to charge, and the battery icon jumps to different values.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I have already updated the firmware and it hasn't helped.

Before connecting a Nokia charger (same 2mm round charging tip) make sure the voltage supplied is 5V. Most Nokia chargers are supplying close to 9V and your tablet will not accept the charger and will not charge. If the charger supplies the required voltage leave the tablet to charge over night.

mine has never said it was charging not even once, and now the battery is completely discharged, might have to RMA

    Strange.

I've tried a 5V (350ma) Nokia charger with mine and it doesn't do anything. The supplied charger seems to work but the battery doesn't seem to hold a charge. I've opened my PD10 and had a look inside, but their doesn't seem to be anything obvious at fault. The battery connections look fine.

Im using a UK plug adapter with the supplied charger, so don't know if that makes any difference.

I'll leave it to charge over night and see if it has any effect.

With mine the battery came with 11%, and just like yours, went down to 2% and back to 9% and was never consistent(and thats when it wasn't even plugged in), i had it pluged in with usb in the hopes that it could charge through usb, but nope. Got about 15-30 minutes of use out of the 11% of battery, and from that time I was very impressed with the tablet. (except for the charging issues which makes it now unusable)

the issue would most likely be one of the following:

    1) Power adapter (not as likely as i have tried 2 chargers)
    2) Battery (not as likely as it was charged to 11% when i got it, perhaps they charged the battery to 11% before installing it in the tablet)
    3) Something internal/hardware related (loose wire..etc)

thanks for posting Neon, please let us know how it works out after you leave it charge overnight

    update:
i took the cover off and saw no obvious flaws except for 2 "significant" dents on the battery(i took a lot of care while removing the cover, so i am certain they are not caused by me), is it possible that the 2 dents are what is causing the device to not charge??

Well, I've left it to charge overnight but it has made no difference. The battery level still jumps up and down at random, and once I remove the power supply, the tablet dies.

Before upgrading the firmware, I noted in the battery menu in settings that the tablet had been running for some two hours on the battery, probably during tests at the factory. I'm going to buy a multi-adapter power supply to see if that charges the battery. If that doesnt do anything, looks like I'll have to RMA.

Thank you for the pictures and the effort! It is very informative taking in consideration it is advertised as 3000 mAh battery! That is a 10% reduction in battery capacity! I still don't think dents in the battery are the problem. Can you take a multimeter and verify the voltage at the battery's terminals with and without the charger plugged? If the voltage changes (gets higher - close to 5V) when the charger is plugged in then it means the battery is toasted. If the voltage does not change when you plug the charger into the tablet then you have a problem on the board or the charger is defective. I would do that before spending more money on a new charger.
