Any chance you can get them to release the source code for the kernel. With GPL they really should provide source code. It would really help us and maybe we can provide a better firmware.
    Please at least ask.

    Thanks.

Thanks I knew about that but I wonder if I can get that to boot on the A8X board , I mean if the board itself is compatible. I don't really care about the rest. Wifi is easy enough as it's a Realtek USB with mainline support. The rest if have no idea ... But if I could get wifi and screen working that would be good for a start.
I was hoping willPanda could contact the manufacturers and get the exact source code for this one.

    Cannot upgrade...

I am getting the same behavior! For 2 seconds it says it's updating the system and then I get the E COMPLETE! message followed by a 10s countdown to system shutdown (which does not happen - I have to do it manually).

I have tried with both dbg and px_update folders on the sd card as well as each one's contents on the sd card to no avail. I cannot install the new firmware.... Can anyone help?

Thanks! I guess I will have to try a 2GB card then (if I partition a larger one, will that work?)...

Any other more recent firmware available anywhere? Official or custom?

ANSWER: I am answering my own question after having managed to properly install the "new" firmware. You have to have both folders that were included in the compressed archive (dbg and px_update) in the root folder of a 2GB sd card. Using a larger sd card will not work! I did partition a larger one to 2GB (plus whatever else you want - that extra will not even be detected) and that did the trick, so I guess you can try that too!
