Is it worth flashing my nupad with the most recent m701 firmware? Is it much better performance wise, responsivness, battery life etc, than the original firmware?

This is the power adaptor I bought when my nupad one stopped working. It has a setting for 9v 1700 ma .

Do I need to root the nupad before I install the firmware, or after? or does installing the firmware root the device at the same time?

Looks like the same problem I'm having with the nupad. how did you connect them? is it just with a wire? will this not damage it?
